Since the LNA of tinySA ULTRA is only valid below 3.5GHz, some users hope to add LNA to improve high-frequency sensitivity, which is very useful for users who need to measure 5.8GHz applications. We have checked some widely used modules on the market. Most of the nominal 6GHz broadband LNA modules have very poor flatness, and some standard 20dB LNA modules have a gain of less than 10dB at 6GHz. And these modules do not provide actual test data, only chip data manuals, but most modules are not exactly the same as the circuit of the chip manual, which causes users to encounter problems when actually using them, especially some so-called high-gain cascade modules, which may have too high gain and too low k value at low frequencies. There is a risk of self-excited damage to the receiver. For ease of use, we have designed a series of LNA modules with USB interfaces.
ZKxx-UM series is a USB interface power supply radio frequency low-noise amplifier launched by Zeenko. It has a convenient power supply interface, moderate gain, high IP3 and low noise. This series uses USB type-C interface for power supply, and the built-in high PSRR LDO can effectively reduce the power supply noise, which effectively reduces the background noise compared with the USB direct feeding modules of other merchants. ZKxx-UM series LNA adopts a very compact design, using a system shielding cover, moisture may rust, please pay attention to moisture-proof in outdoor use.
The ZKxx-BM series is a RF low-noise amplifier with a USB interface powered by a built-in battery launched by Zeenko. Add battery and reduce power consumption on the basis of ZKxx-UM, which is suitable for portable use. Compared with other merchants' built-in battery modules, it has a flatter and consistent gain, lower background noise, smaller volume, and longer battery life.
The following is the actual measurement data of ZKxx-UM series LNA. You can choose according to your needs. The higher the amplifier gain, the better. As a preamplifier and antenna amplifier, it should be selected according to the feeder loss after the amplifier + receiver noise coefficient + (3~6) dB, usually 20dB is enough. For the preamplifier of the spectrum analyzer, due to the wide bandwidth of the front-end circuit, the greater the gain, the worse the anti-blocking performance, and the stronger the intermulation product, the more easily it is to be interfered. If there is no special need, please do not use tinySA ULTRA built-in LNA and external LNA at the same time. This series of amplifiers is a one-way amplifier, which is used for pre-amplification of the receiver or small-power drive amplification. It cannot be used for T/RX public antenna systems such as mobile phone signals or wifi signals. It is not recommended to use a preamplifier in a noisy background environment, which may block the receiver or reduce the reception gain of the AGC circuit of the receiver. Especially in residential areas, medium and short waves are more easily interfered.
